It looks like the guy put a sling swivel on the post ,if so and it's just a swivel attached that should be right. I can't find any pictures of other 39 TDS rifles that came with a checkered stock. Serial number indicates it was made in 1994. What is the current value on these? I think I got a pretty great deal. Almost didn't buy it but some quick googling told me the TDS model us ultra rare and very desirable. This is my first 39 model so I don't really know. The hammer seems to stop at the cross bolt safety bar, which I find usual. Is this normal? I dry fired it a couple times and the hammer doesn't always come in contact with it. I can push it back and fourth with my finger. Oddly there is no rear sling swivel.Īs you can see in the pics, there is a pin at the rear of the bolt (firing pin), that is free floating. Some research indicated the TDS models may have came with a factory sling? If so it didn't come with it, but the rifle did come with the original take down case. The front has a sling swivel, not sure if this is factory or not. Bluing and wood are both 100%, not a scratch.Īs you can see in the pics it has a funky rail where a red dot was probably mounted. It could likely pass for new if the guy who sold it to me didn't say he test fired it. I picked up this Marlin 39 TDS (take down) today.
